Whats going on, whats gonna happen?

Is there any fear yet?
The recession and job losses have barely started.
And central banks are raising rates and quantitatively tightening into said recession.
The FTSE 100 is only a few percent off it’s highs.
The S&P 500 isn’t even in a bear market. Vix is less than 30.
Meanwhile China’s economy is imploding and the Yuan is losing its peg to the USD.
What could go wrong?

Britain isn't run by scientists. The government had a group of scientists they deferred to and certainly set up in case it looked bad.
Politicians have to make decisions and it looks like whatever decision any government took it had a huge impact upon its people with the least issues being in Sweden.

Lockdown may not have made a difference to the ultimate spread of the disease but the aim was to slow its transmission down to ensure the NHS had capacity.
Also, it is not true to suggest he always followed the science. For one, he went against Whitty when he re-opened the schools for a day and then shut them anyway. Seemed to me he picked and chose what science to follow and when to follow it.
All that said, it is clear that he was in an extremely difficult position - unique in our lifetime - and his failings were probably understandable. It just annoys me that people - not you - automatically trot out this line that he got the big things such as Covid right. He didnt.

You need Chris whitty and the sage lot, Bill gates, World health organisation and then fauci and the American disease centre that funded the experimental work on diseases in the wuhan lab and of course the great reset wanting world economic forum that controls our politicians in the dock.
Boris as much as I can’t stand him was forced to lock down (even though it made no difference) by whitty. Should have looked after the old people and let the rest of us get on with it. You cannot stop a respiratory virus from spreading unless we all hide away for a year.

Kips may be indulging in hyperbole but he's right to be questioning the narrative that Johnson 'got the big calls right' which seems to be the current Tory worksong designed to mask his many shortcomings.
I am not sure anyone - except those at the frontline - will emerge with any credit from the Covid inquiry.

Mistakes were made for sure but he (BJ) like most other leaders acted on advice from their 'expert advisors'.
If you want him in the dock for genocide then you're going to need a big fucking dock as it will be crammed with world leaders.
